Titanium vs Tungsten - How Do You Choose?



If you are in the market for a wedding ring, then you may have considered whether or not to get a titanium ring, or a tungsten ring. In the past, these two metals were most commonly used in aircraft manufacturing due to their high level of durability. Over time, it was discovered that these metals could be polished to a high class finish, and could be fashioned into jewelry. As the popularity of titanium continued to increase, more and more pieces of jewelry were created using these metals, including wedding rings.



If you still are not sure as to whether or not you should get a wedding ring made of either titanium, or tungsten, here are some key points about to keep in mind:
  • Hypoallergenic: Titanium wedding rings are 100% hypoallergenic which is great news to those who have broken out from wearing jewelry. Also, titanium rings can prevent nickel allergies unlike wedding rings made with traditional metals.
  • High Durability Both titanium, and tungsten are highly durable, and have also been used in the medicine, and aerospace engineering fields.
  • Low Maintenance If you were to scratch a wedding ring made from either of these metals through normal wear, and tear, the scratches would be very shallow, and can be easily buffed away.
