- Learn about the seasons in the country to that you plan on living in. The climates can be the exact opposite of what you are use to. Also, there may be certain pollen during the warmer months that you are not use to that could wreck havoc with your sinuses. Be sure to learn what you can before settling in to your new home.
- Know what the currency exchange rate in the country that you are going to. Your money may have less value in the country that you are planning on moving to. It's helpful to know this kind of information before you make the big trip.
- It also may be in your best interest to check out international moving companies before you sell your home, or lease it out. Many international movers have special requirements that need to be met before they will agree to move you. International shipping may also come into the equation if you have anything that needs to be mailed to your new home. Overseas moving may also present some issues, but nothing that plenty of pre-planning can't take care of.
