How To Make A Viral Video To Help Boost Your Marketing

Trying to add something special to a marketing campaign can be difficult. Especially when your target market is between 18 and 25. There are so many things out there competing for this demographic's attention, such as Youtube videos, and stuff that comes up on a smart phone. But regardless of how much you have to spend for your marketing campaign, there are ways to get your marketing noticed. One of the best ways is by creating a viral video.

A viral video is a video that takes on a life of its own. Its one that is shared over, and over again even without the video creator's help. Sometimes this video may be a set of slides of crazy retractable banner stands set to music. Or it can be a panda sneezing, or a baby laughing in an unusual sort of way. It's not hard to make an interesting video, but if you want a video that will go viral here are a few things to keep in in mind...
  • Make the subject of your video something that will make people have an extreme reaction. This can be laughter, disgust, surprise, fear, etc.
  • Since the reaction of the video is going to be intense, be sure that the subject of the video is something that you don't mind having linked to your brand. For example, if you are going to make a scary video, that would be perfect to market a haunted house, but not a children't daycare center.
  • Check out what videos on popular video sharing sites have gone viral, and see if you can do a video similar to that. Even though there are hundreds, and hundreds of cute baby videos out there, a new one can still go viral (if its done right).
  • Realize that the first video that you create may not go viral, so you may have to make several in order to get one that does go viral. It's similar to picking a song for a commercial. Not every song made is going to be popular, but once you find one that is, you can negotiate to get the song licensed for a jingle, or background music in a commercial. A viral video can be used in a similar manner.
  • Always be on the lookout for things happening naturally that people may find extremely interesting. This is another way to get content for a viral video.

Just remember that if at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Sometimes it takes pure luck to get a good viral video, but usually its volume. Make several videos on various interesting subjects (ex: an LCD stand that can transform into something else, or can move about on its own), and put them out for the public to fall in love with. The ones that people can't get enough of are the ones that you will want to use in your marketing campaign as a part of your banner stand, or television spot. Just keep an open mind, and your eyes open.
