As reported by TMZ, during the red carpet premiere of "Men In Black III" in Moscow, a Ukranian reporter tried to get a bit too "up close and personal" with Will Smith. When the reporter went in to kiss Will Smith, his mouth briefly brushed Will Smith's causing the former "Fresh Prince of Bel-Aire" star to react somewhat violently as Will pulls away, and gives the reporter a slight slap to the face. The question is: Did Will Smith Overreact?

If you watch the video, at first glance it seems that Will Smith was totally in his right since the reporter is a bit grabby when greeting Mr. Smith. The tricky part is the culture, and the situation. Although this reporter is not well known in the United States, in his own country he is well known for kissing celebrities when he interviews them. Plus, in most European cultures, men do kiss on the check. The problem arose when the kiss went from being on the cheek to on the mouth which, if you watch the video carefully, might have been an accident.

After watching the video a few times, I realized that Will was trying to pull away from the reporter while the reporter was going through his greeting routine. In doing so, it does seem like the reporter may have meant to kiss Will on the cheek, but due to bad timing, ended up grazing Will's mouth. Accident, or not, if a man does not want to be kissed on the mouth by another man, it is understandable that he would get upset. To his credit, although Will Smith could have punched the reporter in the jaw, he just gives him a slight slap (which, I think, TMZ blows WAAAAAY out of proportion just to get better ratings).
